Scottish Thistle Awards 2001 - Customer Care
Visitor Attraction of the Year

Winner - The Gordon Highlanders Museum

The Gordon Highlanders Museum is differentiated from other visitor attractions and its standards of customer care because it is run by volunteers.

Visitors to the museum experience the sincerity and pride of the staff at the Gordon Highlanders Museum.

There was no evidence of any ''weak links'', as every member of staff excelled at ''Customer Care''.

The whole facility is well maintained and is fully equipped to help their less able guests, who were a primary consideration when the Museum was redeveloped in 1996/7. The Museum should be proud of their efforts, as we know the Gordon Highlanders will be proud of them.

Finalist - Glenturret Distillery
Glenturret Distillery has been open to visitors since 1981 and has steadily increased visitor numbers to over 200,000 a year. The blend between being a working distillery and visitor attraction works exceedingly well with visitors feeling part of the experience. All staff at Glenurret display an exceptionally high degree of courtesy and customer care and have a sense of pride and loyalty to their workplace. Glenturret not only meets but exceeds their customers expectations by continually raising service standards and the business has seen profits increase as a result.
