Marketing Opportunities

Who Can Apply?

Applications are welcomed for the VisitScotland Growth Fund from tourism groups throughout Scotland.

The Growth Fund exists to support collaborative marketing projects and as such you must apply as a tourism group, which should consist of at least 3 tourism businesses.

Both new and existing groups can apply for funding, however all groups must have a constitution and a registered bank account.

Should you require support in becoming a constituted group your advisor will be able to provide assistance in completing this process, this can include providing a template constitution for the group to complete.

What qualifies as a tourism business?

  • A tourism business is defined as a business who directly benefits from, and whose activities or services directly encourage, leisure and business visitors to and within Scotland.
  • Groups are encouraged to have businesses from different tourism sectors involved in the marketing project to further develop cross-selling opportunities.

Scottish Racing is a great example of how businesses from different tourism sectors can work together to increase visitor numbers. All five Scottish Racecourses now work jointly with local accommodation providers, transport operators and other visitor attractions to provide their customers with the “complete package”.
