Camping and Caravan Parks
|
The following documents are designed to provide you with all the information you need to know about the content and operation of the Camping and Caravan Parks Quality Assurance Scheme. It is designed to give park operators an in-depth understanding of the park grading scheme; what is looked at when your park is being graded and how it is being assessed. The grading scheme evaluates every aspect of a park in a measured, objective way. Every park is different and the grading scheme recognises this. The scheme incorporates the fact that there are many examples of different types of provision on parks throughout the UK and it is the quality and condition of any item which combine to achieve a mark, not its size or age or because it is made by any particular manufacturer. All guidance notes, criteria for classification, information on fees and application forms are available to download below. Each section should be read and understood before an application is made to join the Quality Assurance Scheme. Criteria and Guidance Notes These assessors’ notes contain information on all the aspects which contribute to the quality grade of your establishment. Details of the percentages (and conditions) required to reach each star grade are given.
Minimum Standard Requirements for Individual Holiday Homes All proprietors must comply with the following conditions including the Code of Conduct, and recommendations are given on the kind of information which should be provided to people enquiring about a reservation.
Caravan and Camping Thistle Award Scheme The Thistle Award Scheme was launched in 1982 by VisitScotland the then Scottish Tourist Board, in conjunction with the two trade organisations, the British Holiday and Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) and the National Caravan Council (NCC). The award promotes those caravan holiday homes for hire on top quality parks. Only caravan holiday homes which comply with the ‘General’ and ‘Caravan Holiday Home’ criteria specified below and are situated on parks graded Exceptional (5 Stars) or Excellent (4 Stars) under the Holiday Park Grading Scheme, will be eligible for consideration for the award. For those parks graded as Excellent, all the individual elements of the park must achieve an Excellent standard.
