The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) Bed & Breakfast, Guesthouse and Small Hotel Accommodation The Accessibility Checklist Tool has been created as to give proprietors of guest accommodation an understanding of how their premises presently rate in terms of their accessibility for disabled people. This checklist should ideally be read in conjunction with the general Designing for Accessibility packs available from the Centre for Accessible Environments. The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) is your responsibility and businesses should be aware of the requirements of the Act. Log on to the 'Introduction for Small & Medium-sized Businesses Checklist of Good Practice' at: www.disability.gov.uk for suggested steps you can take to ensure you comply with the spirit of the Act, as well as meeting your legal obligations.
