Easy to use and Cost-effective

With Web In A Box, the emphasis is firmly on ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness and provides:

• A straightforward website 'layout assistant' tool to allow you to set up your own attractive site using pre-designed templates
• A data management tool for updating availability, prices and other information (for your own site and VisitScotland.com simultaneously)
• A secure booking engine to enable you to take credit/debit card deposits for bookings from your site.

The content and accommodation inventory on your Web In A Box site will also be available to all searches on VisitScotland.com, VisitScotland's niche sites and, in the future, on the Tiscover network of websites, to give you ever greater global sales opportunities. It will also be bookable via the National Booking Centre and the TIC network.

Available in two versions, 'Web in a Box Complete’ & ‘Web in a Box Lite’

• Web in a Box Complete is suitable if you wish to retire your existing site and point its domain name at your new Web in a Box Complete site.
• Web in a Box Lite is suitable if you wish to keep your current site and add a booking engine for online bookings.

What about my current site?

If you currently have your own site and would like to buy Web in a Box:

• You can keep your current site and link through to your Web in a Box site for online bookings; or
• You can scrap your existing site and point the current domain name at your new Web in a Box site; or
• You can purchase a completely new domain name for your Web in a Box site and then replace your current site or link to the new domain name

Commissions

No commissions are levied for accommodation bookings made directly on your site, although a processing charge is levied to cover costs of 0.5% of the total value of the booking.

A reduced commission of 8% is levied on online bookings made via the VisitScotland and Tiscover family of websites while the standard commission of 10% will be levied on all bookings made through the National Booking Contact Centre and the TIC network.
