The Outer Hebrides Tourism Facts and Figures Update, Review of 2006 Season  was commissioned by HIE Innse Gall, VisitScotland Outer Hebrides and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.  Sneddon Economics Ltd was asked to carry out a desk-based study, with advisory assistance from Macpherson Research, to refresh the Western Isles Tourism Facts and Figures update done by Macpherson Research in May 2003.

The Outer Hebrides Accomodation Occupancy Survey 2006 provides percentage occupancy statistics for five accommodation sectors:

• guest house & B&B
• self-catering
• and caravan & camping.
