European Union European funding (through both the European Regional Development Fund - ERDF and European Social Fund - ESF) has been crucial in enabling millions of pounds worth of Scottish tourism projects to be implemented in recent years. These range from major capital projects, marketing campaigns and training programmes. The existing European Structural Funds Programme concludes at the end of 2006 with funding arrangements post 2006 still to be confirmed. VisitScotland is represented on all 4 European Structural Funds Programmes which operate across Scotland and the ESF Programme. VisitScotland is a member of Scotland Europa.
